Eligibility
Boys, Grades 5–8. Your student must be enrolled in one of the following:
- St. Matthew School
- St. Matthew PSR classes
- Church of the Resurrection PSR classes
- Other Columbus Diocese programs are eligible under certain circumstances
Playing another sport? Athletes may play St. Matthew Soccer at the same time.

How Teams Are Formed
Grades 5–8 are recreational teams. Depending on how many athletes register, grade levels may be combined within the school or with other parish schools in order to field a team — this is common across the diocese for almost all parishes.
Practices
Three to four times per week, typically 90 minutes to 2 hours, usually starting between 5:00 and 6:30 PM.
Where: St. Matthew Fields, behind the Gahanna Pool
All of our coaches are volunteers, so practice schedules are arranged to fit their work schedules as best we can.
Practice times may shift later in the season as daylight is lost. Head coaches communicate the final schedule to parents as the season approaches.
Uniforms & Equipment
Uniforms are provided by St. Matthew.
Your athlete brings: Rubber-molded cleats and a mouth guard are required. Many players also buy their own integrated girdle pads.
Games & Locations
Saturdays or Sunday afternoons. Four eight-minute quarters with a ten-minute halftime.
Where: Schools within the diocese.
