Gahanna, Ohio · Grades K–8

St. Matthew Mustangs

12 sports across four seasons — and a spot for every child in the parish, no matter where they go to school.

Welcome

Every child in the parish family belongs here

The St. Matthew Athletic Association brings together families from across the parish to support the sports programs offered through the Diocesan Recreation Association.

Your child is welcome here no matter where they go to school — St. Matthew School, another private school, public school, or homeschool.

Our volunteer coaches and assistants are more than sports instructors. They are mentors who help guide your child’s athletic journey, and it is a joy to watch kids develop not only as athletes but as young people. Sports begin as early as kindergarten, giving even our youngest parish members a chance to discover their talents and make new friends.

We can’t wait to cheer on your student.

What to expect

Built for kids, run by parents

Open to everyone

Any child in the parish family can play — St. Matthew School, another school, or homeschool.

Volunteer coaches

Parish parents who are trained, background-checked, and here to mentor as much as to coach.

Play with your grade

Teams are formed by grade level. Most sports have no evaluations — everyone who registers plays.

Uniforms provided

St. Matthew supplies the uniform for most sports. Each sport page lists what your athlete brings.

The Diocese page is being updated

The Diocese CYO Sports Portal is currently being updated and is not available. We will point this link back at it as soon as it returns.

In the meantime the forms themselves are still available:

Stuck on a form? Ask us and we will sort it out.
